Terms of Service
Effective: April 22, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of ParentProof.com and related services operated by ParentProof.org (a non-profit). By creating an account you agree to these terms.
1. Who can use ParentProof
ParentProof is for parents and caregivers aged 18 and over. You must not create an account on behalf of a child, and you must not use the service in any way that exposes children's personal data to us. We take COPPA compliance seriously — see our Privacy Policy.
2. Your account
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your session.
- You must not share your account with others.
- You must provide accurate information at sign-up.
- We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or our Community Guidelines.
3. Ratings and content you submit
When you submit a rating, review, or listing:
- You grant ParentProof.org a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it.
- You confirm the submission is your honest opinion, not paid promotion.
- You must not submit defamatory, harassing, or illegal content.
- We may remove content that violates our Community Guidelines without notice.
4. AEGIS classifications
Classifications produced by the AEGIS engine are automated and may be inaccurate. They are not legal advice, medical advice, or an endorsement of any product. ParentProof.org and FrameBright.ai disclaim all liability for classification errors. Use classifications as one signal among many.
5. Prohibited uses
- Scraping or bulk downloading the directory without written consent.
- Using the API in a way that exceeds your tier quota or resells access.
- Submitting fake ratings or manipulating the community signal.
- Attempting to interfere with the service or circumvent rate limits.
6. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from account settings. We may terminate accounts that repeatedly violate these terms. Upon termination, your ratings remain in the directory (attributed to "[deleted account]") unless you specifically request deletion under the Privacy Policy DSR process.
7. Limitation of liability
ParentProof.org is a non-profit. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of ParentProof is limited to CAD $100. We are not liable for content submitted by community members.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada. Disputes are resolved in the courts of Vancouver, BC, unless otherwise required by law.
9. Changes to these terms
We will notify registered parents by email at least 30 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
